Builder Gel Introduction

Before your course, you'll complete a short pre-study module via the Online Learning Portal. You'll learn what builder gel is, how it works, and why it’s such a key product in the industry. Work through it in your own time, at your own pace.

Structure of the Nail

Before you can sculpt and strengthen, it’s essential to understand the foundation you're working on. We’ll dive into nail anatomy, natural growth patterns, and how to recognise common nail conditions that could impact your builder gel services.

Natural Nail Preparation and Shaping

Master professional techniques for preparing the natural nail, including shaping and creating a foundation for gel polish.

Builder Gel Application

Master our signature prep and builder gel overlay technique. You’ll learn how to create the perfect apex, smooth application, and a lightweight feel — no bulky nails in sight. Plus, we’ll show you how to avoid lifting and get the longevity your clients expect.

Builder Gel Extras

You’ll learn how to safely remove builder gel, repair a broken nail using a form, and understand the key differences between infills and rebalances.

Natural Nail Preparation and Shaping

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THE COURSE

Nothing! 

No kit is required for this course, as all tools and products will be provided for you at the academy. This gives you the opportunity to try a range of professional products and tools, helping you discover what works best for you.

I teach using Glossify, but if you use a different brand and would like to gain confidence with their viscosity and handling, you're more than welcome to bring your own products along to practise with during the session.

FAQs

Are there any qualifications needed before enrolling?

Yes, a gel polish qualification is required before joining this course.


If you’re not yet qualified, don’t worry! We offer a combined Gel Polish + Builder Gel training option at a discounted rate. It’s the perfect way to start from scratch and level up all in one go.

Do I need to bring a model?

No, you will be working on your own nails.


Please arrive with bare nails (no gel or extensions) that require cuticle work and filing.

What time does the course run?

Our builder gel course runs 10am - 2pm/3pm depending on course size, a 30 minute lunch break is included.

What is your refund policy?

Our Builder Gel Course is non-refundable, and the location is fixed.


If you are unable to attend, please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate you with an alternative date if possible.

Do I Need to Do Anything Before the Course Date?

Yes, before attending the course, you’ll need to complete a short online pre-study module


This section introduces you to builder gel, covering the basics so you feel more prepared and confident on the day.


It takes around 2 hours to complete and can be done in smaller, manageable chunks at your own pace. You’ll receive access to the Online Learning Portal once your booking is confirmed.

What happens at the end of the course?

Once your educator is confident in your knowledge, practical skills, and overall understanding of the course content, you’ll be awarded your certificate of completion.


Your educator will also guide you on how to access your additional resources via the Online Learning Portal, so you can continue learning and developing your skills even after your training day.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, you don’t need to bring anything with you.


Everything you’ll need for the training day will be provided by the academy. Just bring yourself!

What happens if I don't achieve the course requirement's?

If you do not meet the required standard after your training and case studies, you will be invited back free of charge to attend a further training day before receiving your certificate, after this any further training will be chargeable.​​
